Operations Manager

Job Summary:
As an Operations Manager at Willow Hill Soap Company, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of our small soap manufacturing company. Your primary responsibilities will include managing production processes, ensuring quality control, optimizing efficiency, and maintaining a safe and organized working environment. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the overall success and growth of the company.
Responsibilities:
1. Production Management:
- Oversee all aspects of the soap production process, from ingredient procurement to packaging and shipping, to ensure efficient operations.
- Develop and implement production schedules, taking into account customer demand, inventory levels, and resource availability.
- Monitor production workflow to ensure timely completion of orders and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with the team to identify process improvements, enhance productivity, and minimize waste.
2. Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of product quality.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with team to address any quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
3. Inventory Management:
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and prevent stockouts.
- Assist in coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of raw materials, packaging materials, and other necessary supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical counts with MRP system records and identify any discrepancies.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and motivate a team of production staff, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement.
- Identify training needs and provide ongoing development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of the operations team.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), company policies, and industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and training documentation.
Qualifications/Skills
-Minimum 5yrs experience in Operations Management, Business Administration, Production Management, or a related field.-Bachelors in Business, Engineering or related field preferred
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control standards, and inventory management principles.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective leadership and communication abilities, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software, production planning tools, Apple and MS Office applications.
Some travel will be required.
Compensation & Benefits:
$60,000-$75,000 DOE
